Giovanni Morbin was born in Valdagno in 1956 and lives and works in Cornedo Vicentino.
In 1982 he graduated in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice in the laboratory of Emilio Vedova. Since 1978 his research has been linked to behavior through performance and, in parallel, he is interested in the construction of objects functional to daily action, to which he gives the value of tools. In 1993 he presented “Forms of behavior” to Ottomat, he co-authored and signed the poetic declaration of EXPRESSIVE ETHICS UNIVERSAL (EEU), published on Corriere della Sera on May 8, 1994, and in November 1995 he founded TOTAL SURFACE, a container for his actions. . From that moment on, his performances are called Hybridizations, hybrid actions characterized from time to time by animal, vegetable, mineral and artificial partners. Since 2002 he has been active as a portrait painter (the outside world), with commissioned portraits made with the client’s blood, and in interior design (the world seen from the inside) as part of the “I’m no longer in the skin” project. Over the last few years he has conducted research on the nature of form and image materialized by atomizations of common objects as the ideal artistic reorganization of the world.
He partecipated in the first edition of Corpi sul palco in 2019.
